Jason M. Miller is a Ross County native and 1994 graduate of Zane Trace High School. In 1998, he graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor degree in English. After graduation, he attended the Ohio Northern University Petit College of Law where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 2001. Judge Miller began his career as a civil trial lawyer in Columbus, Ohio before returning to Ross County where he worked for the Ross County Prosecuting Attorney as Assistant Prosecutor. In that role, he served as Juvenile Prosecutor and Adult Felony Assistant Prosecutor. He was later recruited to serve as Hardin County Municipal Prosecuting Attorney and as Village Solicitor for as many as five northern Ohio villages before returning to Chillicothe in 2021. Upon his return to his hometown, he served as Assistant Chillicothe City Law Director and as a private attorney. His career includes licensure to practice law in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also served as appointed acting judge in Logan and Highland Counties. He has served on a number of boards, including the Hardin County American Red Cross, the Zane Trace Education Foundation, First Capital Rotary, and the Chillicothe Evening Lions. He also is an Ohio Supreme Court certified mediator. Judge Miller was elected to the bench in the Chillicothe Municipal Court in November 2025 and resides in Chillicothe with his wife and two daughters.
